HHC take 1

so it’s wednesday…and i finally got a chance to update:)

things are going AMAZING @ JHC-TV. our theme verse the week is Romans 12:2 which encourages us not to conform to what we see going on around us. it’s been amazing to explore that together and experience God through so many different ways.

the mornings have been filled with solo’s with God, some discussion with our teams about how that time went and then folowed by time to work on their infomercials (that’s right!!), commercials, and new station logos.

afternoons are filled with all kinds of events and activites, including finding the alien barnyard animals that invaded Harmony Heart Camp. it was a real freak thing but they’ll explain it all to you when we get back:)

evenings so far have been amazing. we’ve explored Jesus as the ultimate NONconformIST and we’ll continue to unpack that as the week progresses. thanks so much for all your prayers so far…everyones safe and having a wonderful time

hopefully i’ll be able before we return on friday…but if i don’t…just assume the kids won in dodgeball;)

HHC

tomorrow we all head off to HHC for JHC – TV. i know that’s a whole lot of initials…but click on the links…you’ll understand;)

we’re so excited to join 2 other youth groups for an unbelievable weekend. definitely a highlight of the year for our junior highers. please continue to keep them in your prayers and look to the blog for updates. (if i can snag some internet up there i’ll be sure to update)

see you all when we come back….

Sr High Retreat

What a great weekend we had at lake champion this year! I’m actually really excited to share a little bit about what God did and what we experienced together.

My Book Your Sandwich did the worship for the weekend…what an anointed group of men. thanks a ton guys~

Jason was our speaker this year and challenged us with how we view heaven. Simply stated, it’s “time with God”, and something we get to experience at some level everyday! What a great and challenging thought. It really made me stop and think about how my time with God has been (honestly…it’s been kinda weak and routine) and if I’m really experiencing the fullness that God wants me to. The last couple days have been better, I really feel like I’ve had a chance to sit with Jesus and live through Him and His Spirit instead of trying to do it all myself (which is something I ALWAYS struggle with). I know some of you guys are going through similar things…my encouragement is to just keep going through it with those around you~

Some additional highlights for the weekend: we SCHOOLED Stonecrest in dodgeball (they put up a little bit of a fight…and want a rematch:)), our heros did the zip-line into 20 inches of snow/slush on the lake in shorts and t-shirts, our guys had the annual LHC wrestlefest, and our girls successfully embarrassed themselves to the point where they hid behind a couch (they were shortly pointed out by Melanie:)).

What a great weekend. If you took pics, PLEASE get them to me ASAP so i can put them up on our flickr account~

Weekend Wrap-up

hey guys!

i just wanted to drop a quick post down to wrap-up a GREAT weekend and set us up for the next weekend…

what a GREAT WEEKEND! Your questions for our missionary Will Dew in Sunday School were amazing. i really hope you all enjoyed that time as much as i did. after church a couple of us went out to cheebuger cheeburger even though John Betchal couldn’t come. shout out to big ben gillespie for killing a 1lb cheeseburger in under 5 minutes and attempting a second 1lb burger in the same sitting. ben…much luv…maybe you’ll get through it next time!

then, more of you guys than i expected came out to serve at the missions banquet. i can’t believe how awesome you guys were…as a matter of fact…neither could a lot of people. they were really blessed by your service.

here’s a little note that Pastor Phil wanted me to send along to everyone!

“You guys are the best! The night of the missionary prayer meeting God used you not only to bless the missionaries but also the church members that attended. I was blessed by the freedom and depth of prayer I heard from my group and I heard the same comment from other groups as well.

I also wanted to thank you for your service at the banquet. You guys are clearly developing a powerful walk with the Lord and He is honored and we are blessed.

Blessings,

Pastor Phil”

And for those of you guys getting ready for our Sr High Metro Retreat…we are leaving from LHC @ 5pm Friday and returning 4pm Sunday. Get ready for a GREAT weekend!

much love guys~
