Ensenada – Day 1b
So we returned from church and it was amazing: here’s the low down~
~we drove to what rick said was “one of the poorest” areas that we’ll be in. i kind of picked that up when i was driving our 15 passenger van down a completely dirt road with fields all over for the “field workers” that live in the area.
~church was supposed to start at 12pm. kicked up about 12:20 and i felt like i was at LHC as people continued to come in late. i find it funny that here it’s expected as part of the culture. at home, we expect timeliness from everyone yet find ourselves running late, especially to church;)
~worship was AWESOME! passionate, free, and raw. this was the time to let it out and worship God with all you could. even though most our team speaks minimal spanish, we were able to celebrate God together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
~there was CMA posters and the CMA symbol on the walls. even though we’re almost 2500 miles away something felt familiar:) there were moments i just smiled because i knew what the pastor was passionate about. Jesus. it was all about Jesus. that may be the thing i love most about the CMA…it’s not about a policy, it’s not about a building, it’s not model or structure. it’s.just.about.Jesus. i’m happy God opened my heart and eyes to see him today.
today’s been a good day so far ~ and we haven’t even had dinner yet!
